Home window tinting is a way to lessen the glare and heat of the sun by diffusing light with film. There are many ways to tint windows, but the most often used method for home window tinting is to do it yourself by buying a window film, cutting it to the size of your window, cleaning your window and applying the film before using a squeegee to get out the air and water. Home window tinting is an inexpensive way to affect the shading coefficient and solar gain of your windows but it is not as effective as Low E coating windows.
